A volleyball players shoulder is as important as a Jockey’s horse. If your horse is injured you will never win the race. Just like in volleyball, if you have a shoulder injury you will not be a big scoring contributor to your team.
I have had consultations with over 1000 volleyball players. I always ask “what exercises have you been doing in your training?” The common response is bench press, dumbbell pressing variations, lat pull downs, pull-ups, seated rows, squats, deadlifts and a ton of core work. What is missing are exercises to help improve your shoulder mobility, stability and strength.
This is something you need to regularly work on if you want to have a long volleyball career.
Seeing as how I am passionate about you having a long volleyball career I have set up three videos to teach you how to properly take care of your shoulder. These exercises should be performed 4 times per week at a minimum.
Video 1- Foam Rolling Exercises
Video 2- Lacrosse Ball Exercises
Video 3- Strength and Stability Exercises
